Nairobi National Park is the only park across the world situated inside a Capital City. The park is home to some of the world's big five animals including rhinos, buffalos, lions, and leopards (rare sighting). The park is a go-to destination for travelers looking to get a glimpse of the Kenyan wildlife before embarking on a detailed adventure and those who are in Nairobi for a short while.
Your trip starts early at 6:00 am, where you are picked up from your accommodation within Nairobi in a tourist van and head to the main gate. You are allowed a few minutes at a coffee shop to pick take-away breakfast on request.
After check-in and the entrance, your driver-guide will take you around the park explaining different types of wildlife you encounter (impalas, gazelles, rhinos, giraffes, elands, hertbeasts, lions, warthogs, serval cats etc) and some of the iconic locations within the park like Ivory Burning Site, dams, and a short trip to the Masai Market within. Kindly note that private guests are allowed to choose between free transport to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust or Giraffe Center as specified below.
Guests on a private trip are allowed to pass by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see elephants. Kindly note that this requires early booking on the website by the guest. The cost paid to Africa Unlocked Tours and Travel does not include the entrance fee to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the organization also advises guests to book before visiting.
Private guests are also allowed to pass by the Giraffe Center to interact and learn about the Rothschild Giraffe. Kindly note that the entrance charges for the Giraffe Center are not included in the rates paid to Africa Unlocked Tours and Travel.
Guests are then dropped back to their hotels after the trip.
